BPAA TOP100 Shortlisted Projects Announced

The First Global Competition for Best Practices of Applied Algorithms (BPAA)TOP100 Shortlisted Projects Announced

The audition & registration of the first Global Competition for Best Practices of Applied Algorithms (BPAA), which faces the seven major competition regions and five major algorithm tracks in the world, lasted for more than a month and ended recently. After strict review and scoring by the jury, 100 outstanding projects passed the preliminary competition and entered the next stage of the competition. On May 24, the Preparatory Team of BPAA Competition, together with Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Research Institute and EqualOcean, officially released the "TOP100 List of the first Global Competition for Best Practices of Applied Algorithms (BPAA)" for the regional finals.

Considering that algorithms are the key industrial elements in the field of artificial intelligence, the BPAA Competition clearly put forward the idea of "promoting algorithm industrialization", so as to promote the clustering and sustainable high-quality development in algorithm industries, promote the overall rise of the artificial intelligence industry, first and comprehensively build this world-wide annual competition for this goal. As a new opportunity for the development of algorithm industry, BPAA Competition has been positively registered and responded by professional algorithm service entrepreneurs, algorithm teams of artificial intelligence enterprises, algorithm research groups of universities and other units and individuals from all over the world. Hundreds of BPAA projects have been collected in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Yangtze River Delta region, Greater Bay region, Central and Western regions of China, as well as North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

The jury of the preliminary competition of BPAA is composed of domestic and international professors, scholars and application experts in the fields of public algorithm, financial algorithm, medical algorithm, industrial algorithm and commercial algorithm. All judges have signed the "Confidentiality Commitment Letter" in written form for all competition materials they may contact, and comprehensively reviewed and scored the competition items of each track from the evaluation aspects of technology and innovation, commercial value and social value. The TOP100 projects have passed the sea election and formally entered the next stage of regional finals. The Preparatory Team will notify the finalists by email. The teams that won the TOP100 of the competition will have the opportunity to obtain favorable industrial supports from Shanghai, and may also enter the TOP30 List of the highest honor SAIL Award of the WAIC.

Domestically, the next regional finals of BPAA Competition will be offline roadshow ranking competitions in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Wuhan, respectively set up for Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Yangtze River Delta region, Greater Bay region and Central and Western regions of China. While online evaluation and selection will still be applicable to the three major international competition regions, namely North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. After the national ranking of each track obtained from the regional final roadshow is comprehensively evaluated by the jury, the TOP10 projects of each track will be awarded the TOP50 of the BPAA Competition and will shine in the track final to be held in Shanghai.

The first Global Competition for Best Practices of Applied Algorithms (BPAA) is held to "gather international algorithm resources, spread algorithm practice benchmarks, cultivate algorithm model teams, build algorithm industry ecology, and build a global algorithm highland." Now the TOP100 projects for the global Best Practices of Applied Algorithms have surfaced. Guided by these benchmark algorithm application cases, more cutting-edge talent teams are expected to focus on investment, emerge and stand out in the field of algorithm industrialization in the future. The competition will also be dedicated to providing those pioneers who dare to explore with a professional and open international exhibition and exchange platform, planting fertile soil for the industrial talents to develop ability, stimulating the vitality of industrial technological innovation, building an international cutting-edge talent team and enhancing global cross-regional exchanges and cooperation.
