Sinochem Holdings inks procurement deals worth over $10 billion at 6th CIIE

The 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) kicked off at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) on Nov. 5. As a globally leading comprehensive chemical corporation, Sinochem Holdings took four of its overseas subsidiaries to the expo and hosted a special signing ceremony during the event, facilitating in-depth communication and cooperation with its global partners and sharing the opportunities created by the development of the Chinese market.

At this year's CIIE, Sinochem Holdings signed cooperation agreements with over 30 clients from more than ten countries and regions, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ethiopia, France, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Thailand, the United States, and Japan. These agreements covered various fields such as crude oil and refined oil, food and agricultural products, chemical products, chemical equipment, and service trade, with total procurement amount exceeding $13.5 billion.

Sinochem Holdings' Syngenta Group, Adisseo, Elkem and KraussMaffei brought new products, technologies, and services in green agriculture, animal nutrition, chemical materials, and intelligent equipment to the 6th CIIE. They signed multiple supply agreements with total sales exceeding $1.9 billion.

At the special signing ceremony hosted by Sinochem Holdings during the expo, the corporation signed agreements with Saudi Aramco, Vitol Group, Mitsui & Co., Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Dow Chemical Company, CHIMEI, Kao Corporation, Nylonkong and other renowned enterprises to import energy and chemical products such as crude oil, coal, refined oil, vinyl acetate, and methanol, as well as food and agricultural products including coffee beans, juice and fruit powder, and soybeans.

The new technologies, products and services presented by the four companies at the 6th CIIE are expected to promote technological upgrading and green development of Chinese industries, and help foreign companies better fit into the Chinese market and share Chinese opportunities.

Syngenta Group from Switzerland, a world-leading agricultural tech company, set up three major exhibition areas under the theme of "A Powerhouse of Sustainable Innovation" at the 6th CIIE. These areas focus on "Better plant performance," "Enhanced soil health" and "Higher yields and quality," showcasing a range of the latest seed innovations, plant protection technologies, soil health solutions, green and traceable agricultural products, and featured imported crops. Many of these innovative products and technologies were displayed for the first time at the expo.

As a global leader in animal nutrition, Adisseo from France showcased a series of innovative offerings at the 6th CIIE, including its digital raw material platform called Precise Nutrition Evaluation, a 30-year undertaking, and 18 types of feed ingredients. Additionally, plant extracts developed by the company's subsidiary Nor-Feed were also exhibited, which make feed additives production more environmentally friendly and promote green and sustainable development across the industry.

Elkem Silicones from France is a leader of innovation in materials science. By introducing the application of its products in energy storage batteries, photovoltaic panels, skincare products, heart models, and new energy vehicles at the expo, it showcased its achievements in smart mobility, comfortable living, life sciences, and future technology.

KraussMaffei from Germany celebrates the 185th anniversary of its establishment this year. As one of the leading manufacturers in global rubber and plastics production, processing machineries and systems, the company demonstrated its leadership in the three major areas of injection molding, extrusion, and reaction process technology. Besides, it showcased its innovative capabilities in empowering local partners to achieve industrial upgrading and high-quality development through customized solutions.
