解放碑步行街是1997年，重庆市、渝中区政府投资3000万元，以解放碑（抗战胜利记功碑）为中心将解放碑大十字地区（民权路、民族路和邹容路的共2.24万平方米面积）改造成中国西部第一条商业步行街——解放碑中心购物广场。
重庆解放碑金鹰财富中心巨型LED电子屏位于城市CBD解放碑,区域内融合了办公、购物、休闲多形态商业，如大都会、王府井百货、重百、新世纪等，正对广场，覆盖高人流量。
