“Solem Pledge of Love · Love Begets Love” -- Double Seventh Festival series activities conducted by Huimin County

Double Seventh Festival is a love festival in China. On the seventh day of the seventh lunar month every year, many couples choose to register and get marriage certificate on the day representing love. On August 22, the romantic Double Seventh Festival, Civil Affairs Bureau in Huimin County invited several new couples to Zhongkang Elderly Care and Rehabilitation Center in Sunwu Neighborhood to attend “Solem Pledge of Love · Love Pledges Love” series activities, celebrating the festival in a different way.

In Zhongai Elderly Care Center, several newly married couples made steamed stuffed buns for the elderly, did cleaning and household chores, and chatted with them. The activity sent warmth and care to the elderly, and also allowed the newly married couples to feel a sense of responsibility for family.

Newly married person Xu Hongyu said, “It is particularly meaningful. I feel the attention that the organizer pays to us on this special day. Through this activity, I also understand that respecting elderly is a responsibility to family. In the future, I also will respect and love my parents and parents-in-law, creating harmonious home atmosphere.”

By holding “Solem Pledge of Love · Love Begets Love” series activities, Huimin county makes further efforts to guide a great majority of young people to establish right outlook of love, marriage and family, making this Double Seventh Festival a memorable one.
